images from images
I really liked my picture of the brain, bus and PS2. I thought i did a good job of connecting both the bus and the PS2 together with color and an image. While the two are connected well, the bold lines show they are different. The other project I made was more plain, but I still liked how I used different materials to make the letters.

Opposites Project
For my opposite project I wanted to make picture frames that contrasted the pictures in them. Each frame would hold a picture that fit better in the other frame. I made the first frame be one meant to hold basketball pictures. Inside that frame instead of putting a basketball picture I put in a family photo. In the next frame that was meant to hold a family picture I put in a picture of a basketball team. This switch was meant to symbolize how a family is a team and a team is a family.

Youth
On your blog write a statement of purpose for the term using the following questions as a guide:
What questions can you formulate about your theme (at least 4)?
What is youth?
How does youth affect you?
Why do people try to hold on to youth?
Is youth dangerous?
How does your theme connect to your life?
I'm young and love to be around other people who are also young.
What kinds of images come to mind when you think about your theme?
Children, small animals, happiness, candy.
What kinds of art or visual information (advertising, tv, film) have you seen that relates to your theme?
Youth is a huge part of advertising, tv and film. All the characters are trying to act young on tv and in advertising they are always showing things that make you look or feel young.
Essential Questions
How do artists develop content and ideas for their work?
They play around with different materials and see what they like. They come up with a basic concept and then work off of that. The finished work rarely looks like what the artist had in mind in the beginning.
